Transport Authorised Organisation
Obtaining TAO: the coveted accreditation that moves you and your hunger for more work to the head of the pack.
We can help you become an exclusive member of an illustrious community of contractors, starting today.
What is TAO?
Commencing in 2012, the Asset Standards Authority (ASA) under Transport for NSW launched the Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) program to support the construction industry. The name has now changed to TAO (Transport Authorised Organisation).
TAO's can be implemented during various stages of the asset life cycle from concept and feasibility, through to design, testing, and construction.
What most in-the-know don’t know is that head contracts are more likely to be awarded to contractors by TfNSW, if they’ve have obtained an TAO from the ASA.
Once you’re equipped with TAO, you have demonstrated the ability to assure the work delivered to the government in the various stages of the asset lifecyle. As head contractor, you can then win tenders directly with TfNSW.
What do we do?
Here’s the plain truth: we can get the TAO accreditation from ASA for you as soon as humanly possible. We were the first in NSW to do so for contractors in 2012, the AEO early days.
Here’s a more exciting truth: if you want to start getting tenders for Transport for NSW construction/maintenance jobs within Sydney’s failing infrastructure, you need that TAO.
And now, the most exciting truth: if you want to become a part of this exclusive community of contractors while generating unforeseen levels of new project revenue for your company, that TAO from TfNSW is your ticket.
If this is all sounding a little too overwhelming and complex…
…then don’t worry for a minute. But let’s make it simpler:
“As a head contractor, once you are a fully-fledged TAO, you zoom to the top of the list to win tenders with TfNSW," Zain Jafar, Edara Systems.

Example TAO Projects
Alliance Network Infrastructure
2018
ANI Is an existing client of Edara. They needed to enter the Sydney Trains rail work market and tender directly for work which required them to be an AEO. The director of ANI, Greg Leadbeatter called Zain and discussed the process from start to finish. Greg decided that it was the right move for the business to become an Authorised Engineering Organisation and gave Zain the go ahead to start the process with the Asset Standards Authority at TfNSW. ANI is now doing a lot of rail work for Sydney Trains, which has seen them hire many more staff to keep up with it all.
SP Power
2018
SP Power is an existing client of Edara. The director of SP Power, Sean McGInty has been in the OH and UG ASP industry for over 30 years, and due to the big demand in railway work from Sydney Trains, he needed to obtain AEO from the Asset Standards Authority. Sean rang Zain form Edara and enaged them to carry out the project. This is the second time that Edara obtains Authorised Engineering Organisation status for Sean, as they did so for his previous company, Poles & Underground. They are now carrying out large projects for Transport for NSW that they could not have done without being an AEO.
Dancore Solutions
2019
Michael Daniel, the Director of Dancore Solutions decided to obtain AEO from TfNSW so that he can strategically steer his business into the construction and maintenance market, to supplement any slowdown in the traditional ASP market. He met with Zain at the Edmondson Park McDonalds to avoid the rush hour traffic, singed up to do the AEO, as well as ISO and Edara's online solution all over a Big Mac. Edara obtained AEO for Dancore from the ASA, and they are now working for Sydney Trains on rail projects.
